Data Disclaimer

In evaluating and using data from the database the following points should be kept in mind.

  1. When there is significant term mixing in the Breit-Pauli approximation, the velocity form of the transition operator has neglected some relativistic corrections and hence, unlike the length form, is not fully correct in that some terms of order α2 have been omitted. The two values are included in the .lsj files for information only and only have significance when term mixing is small and the transition is spin-allowed.

  2. The total energies included in some of the tables are from spectrum calculations within a correlation model. Since different models are used for different spectra, differences of total energies between different spectra do not yield valid data
